On behalf of the Odessa (MO) Church of Christ family, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our website! My name is Greg Ziegler. My wife, Lisa, and I have served the Odessa church since having moved here in early 1984. The church graciously welcomed us and has been our family by virtue of our common relation to Jesus ever since.
You are invited to browse the various links which will give you access to: other popular and interesting sites (simply designated "Links"); photos of various events involving the church; introductions to our shepherds (our spiritual leaders) and our deacons; our location; etc. To access our members' area (including our bulletin and prayer list) requires a username and password, which are reserved for our church family. Any family or friends who would like access to our bulletin/prayer list will be granted a username and password upon request. My goal is to regularly add resources which family members and visitors alike will find helpful and which will give, especially visitors, a fair idea of who and why we are.
Our goal is to be all about Jesus Christ. We believe Jesus’ death on a Roman cross 2000+ years ago was followed by His resurrection. These events were central to the plan of God from before the beginning of the world, intended by Him to show us how much He loves us, and to what length He is willing to go to convince us of that love. The good news is that in Jesus, there is hope for every man, woman, and child in this world.
We invite you to put your trust in Jesus. That’s what our family is ultimately about. We are formerly lost souls who have been found by Him who still seeks and saves the lost. We’d love for you to visit us, get to know us, find out who we are and what we believe. But more than anything, we hope that in us you will see a bit of Jesus…and come to know that you have found a home.
For the church,
Greg
Luke 4:16-21
He (Jesus) went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. And he stood up to read. The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written: "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor." Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him, and he began by saying to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing." NIV
